Nissan has announced the newest launch in its segment of electric cars: the e-NV200 WORKSPACe. In collaboration with UK based design company Studio Hardie, the Japanese car manufacturer has created a smart solution for modern business that need to be on the go.
The e-NV200, an electric van, was launched by Nissan in 2013. Powered by 24 kWh lithium-ion battery – the same as the Nissan Leaf – the e-NV200 was made first available in Japan and Germany. Nissan is one of the pioneers of electric and environment friendly cars in the world and they have indeed gone a step further with the e-NV 200 WORKSPACe.
This office on wheels features a touchscreen computer, foldout desk, wireless internet, coffee maker, mini fridge, smartphone controlled LED lights, wireless phone charging and Bluetooth controlled speakers. The van’s back door has a mount so you can keep a foldable bicycle at hand if you need to zip somewhere for a couple of minutes. The icing on the cake is the pull-out deck that comes along with the van, so you can sit back and relax after a long, tiring day.
William Hardie, founder of Studio Hardie, is excited about this venture with Nissan as it is the first of its kind in an electric vehicle. “Given the van’s green credentials, we wanted to
maximize the space with smart and considered features such as sustainably sourced materials and efficiently powered technology.” The Nissan e-NV200 WORKSPACe indeed aims to provide all the comfort and connectivity of the modern office to anyone from the working professional to an indie artist.
As any entrepreneur will tell you, renting office space in any major city is an extremely expensive affair. The e-NV200 WORKSPACe targets start-up companies and freelancers who don’t wish to spend a fortune on renting office space and whose work demands that they move around a lot. Moreover, just think of all the time you will save on your daily commute to work.
An environmentally friendly vehicle, the e-NV 200 has zero emission and is close to silent as you zip through the city. Moreover, you can say goodbye to oil changes and forget about the rising cost of fuel as you continue to stay mobile. As the vehicle is electric, it doesn’t have most of the regular parts that cars do and you will save time, effort and money on frequent wear and tear issues as the machine gets older. Two leather chairs anchored to the oak flooring allow for meetings to take place. The interior colours, of the WORKSPACe, can be changed to suit the occupant’s mood simply by using a smartphone app. Stationery holders, file slots and even the coffee machine are all built into the van in such a way that they can be pulled out when necessary and kept hidden the rest of the time.
The e-NV200 WORKSPACe can be charged up to 80 percent in under 30 minutes making it extremely efficient. As Nissan press release states, this vehicle is truly a blend of environmental consideration and intelligent mobility. Would you one of those who would opt for a portable workstation such as the e-NV 200. Do let us know in the comments. Watch the movie of Nissan e-NV200 WORKSPACe below :
