ZOPO is one of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers, which has managed to enter into the Indian market with its stylish and highly featured smartphones. It entered the Indian market with its ZOPO Speed 7 a year ago and yesterday it launched the ZOPO Speed 8 at event held in New Delhi on Wednesday. What makes this smartphone special is the company’s claim that it is going to be the first MediaTek’s deca-core Helio X20 MT 6797 SoC – which will be coupled with 4GB of RAM. The price that has been decided for this smartphone is $446 (roughly Rs. 29,999).
The smartphone is equipped with a 21 megapixel rear-facing camera which is powered by a Sony IMX230 sensor, and a 8 megapixel front-facing camera. The handset has 3600mAh battery which would last over two days as the company promises. The smartphone is dual-SIM which runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and also features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080-1920 pixels) display. It comes with an inbuilt storage capacity of 32GB and a limitation too, that the storage capacity is non-expandable. The handset’s connectivity options are good which include 4G( with support for Indian LTE bands), Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, micro-US and FM radio.
The Chinese giant is planning to launch its multi-featured smartphone in two different colors; black and white. The smartphone measures 152.5 x 76.35 x 9.8mm and would weigh 136 grams.
ZOPO has spent one year in the Indian market and has received an amazing response for their smartphones. The company launched the ZOPO Speed 7 last year in the month of August after which it launched two more smartphones namely ZOPO Speed 7 Plus and the ZOPO Hero 1. Both the smartphones came out to be successful in the market and the company gained attention. Although it is still unable to compete huge Korean brands like Samsung or Nokia but it has built a separate community in the Indian market. After a successful debut in the country, the company has been planning to launch something special for the consumer, which has turned out to be the ZOPO Speed 8. Although the new launch is a bit expensive for a rational buyer and also the most expensive among all the previous smartphones launched, the company is expecting a positive response from the Indian market.
